A work in progress

Welcome to The Ice, Spice and Vice Files!

Here we aim to provide you with 7 full length and detailed reviews, one for each day of the week, of the highlights (or lowlights as the case may be) of the following week's single releases.

You will also find plenty of other features, including the UK midweeks singles chart which is updated daily, roundups of both the international music and boxoffice charts, a glance at the X Factor UK, a 'Who's On Top?' magazine section as well as some other treats too, such as our 'Star Power' featured artist page and 'Introducing...' page.

As always, if there's something you want us to review or feature, just let us know via email or comment and we'll try and sort something out. We're very friendly like that ;-)

In Love and light

Music Video Première - Black Eyed Peas - The Time (Dirty Bit)

So the latest Black Eyed Peas video has dropped and in all honesty we're not really sure what to make of it...We feel it's a bit of a victim to its own ingenuity by mashing together too many different effects and styles to the point that it becomes lost as a succinct and polished video. We expected more colour and certainly less product placement...

Music Video Première - Taio Cruz ft. Kylie Minogue - Higher

Here's the brand new video for the UK version of Taio Cruz's next 'Rokstarr' single, 'Higher.' The video looks very sharp and slick, but once again offers us nothing of substance. But hey, we're used to that with Mr Cruz nowadays. How hot is Kylie looking though?! We wonder if the international video with Travie McCoy will offer up anything more interesting...we don't hold much hope...

Who's On Top? - Keri Hilson Covers Jones Magazine

Keri Hilson has fronted 'Jones' magazine wearing what appears to be a yeti. Interesting choice...but we think we'll stick to normal people's clothes for now.

Meet The Mini Gleeks!

In episode seven of the latest series of Glee, titled 'The Substitute,' we get to meet the younger versions of the Glee cast when teacher Will Schuester falls sick and starts hallucinating. This series literally gets more and more crazy...We also get introduced to Gwyneth Paltrow's cameo character, Holly Holiday, who stands in for Will as the Glee club's substitute. Ahhh...now we see what they did with the title...genius...

Who's On Top? - Ricky Martin Covers Out Magazine

Ricky Martin and a host of other famous US faces have covered the latest issue of 'Out' magazine in their compilation of the 100 most compelling people of 2010 in order to celebrate their 200th issue! Catch a look at his spread below, not terribly creative but at least the strain of raising two children hasn't made him look (too) old yet.

Music Video Première - Rihanna ft. Drake - What's My Name?

Here's the video for Rihanna's next single, 'What's My Name' featuring Drake. It's not really the most inspired video we've ever seen, we much prefer the one which accompanies 'Only Girl (In The World)' but hey, she looks hot and she looks like she's having fun dancing down the street and in the party scene at the end so good for her ;)

Who's On Top? - Nicki Minaj Covers Billboard Magazine

Here's the self branded Barbie of hip-hop on yet ANOTHER cover! Whilst we love the gradual takeover of Miss Minaj, (We can barely go 5 minutes without hearing/reading about/seeing her) we've seen this shot so many times before...we expected more Nicki. Tut.

Music Video Première - Ellie Goulding - Your Song

Here's Ellie Goulding's latest offering from the re-release of her debut album 'Lights' which has been renamed as 'Bright Lights.' The track is a cover of Elton John's 'Your Song' which, whilst we love the track, think is best left in Elton's capable hands...

Who's On Top? - Kanye West Covers i-D Magazine

Well...that's all very 'gangsta' isn't it Mr West? We get that it's all about the bling and the uninterested pout in your game Kanye, but, to be honest...we're not that impressed, despite what your cover might say.

UK Boxoffice Chart Roundup - 12th Nov

New movie ‘Due Date’ has swiped the #1 spot this week right from under the nose of comedy ‘Jackass 3D,’ with its £2.3million haul clearly stripping past ‘Jackass 3D’s £1.69million ticket sales, placing it at #2.

This moves kids’ animation ‘Despicable Me’ down to the #3 spot, yet again taking another week’s strong sales with £1.17 million, which means that since its UK release it has taken over £16million from Britain alone.

Post Halloween, ‘Saw £D’ and ‘Paranormal Activity 2’ fall to the #4 and #5 spots respectively. Other new entries this week come in the form of ‘Let Me In’ which debuts at #8 and ‘Another Year’ a place behind at #9.
