A work in progress

Welcome to The Ice, Spice and Vice Files!

Here we aim to provide you with 7 full length and detailed reviews, one for each day of the week, of the highlights (or lowlights as the case may be) of the following week's single releases.

You will also find plenty of other features, including the UK midweeks singles chart which is updated daily, roundups of both the international music and boxoffice charts, a glance at the X Factor UK, a 'Who's On Top?' magazine section as well as some other treats too, such as our 'Star Power' featured artist page and 'Introducing...' page.

As always, if there's something you want us to review or feature, just let us know via email or comment and we'll try and sort something out. We're very friendly like that ;-)

In Love and light

News - 6pm

  • Twitter faces more criticism as Nadine Coyle's account was hacked into yet again last night and tweets were posted redirecting viewers to a diet site. The posts, which suggested that Coyle has been extreme dieting, claimed that the signer had lost 11lbs in a week. Fortunately Coyle's team spotted the incident which resulted in Coyle tweeting "Sorry guys but my Twitter has been hacked again!! We are trying to fix it. Don't listen to anything on there until I have it back. Thank you! -Nadine Xx mwAh!" In other Coyle related news, the singer has revealed that she didn't intend for her new solo LP to follow and 80s sounding route. However, she has played down the similarities, stating that it is just the use of live instrumentals that encourage the comparisons. Talking about the album, Coyle also added that she'd love to work with Cee-Lo Green, "Although it would hopefully not feature as much profanity as his recent song" titled 'Fuck You.'  What a busy day for the Irish songbird.

  • It has been reported that Nadine's fellow Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole has made no mention of former husband Ashley Cole in her new autobiography. The book, entitled 'Through My Eyes,' fails to elaborate on any details of her relationship and split with the football star throughout its 253 pages, whilst it does make references to 'close friends' Derek Hough and Will.I.Am. The British sweetheart also refrained from commenting on her recent battle with malaria. Don't do an autobiography if you're not going to say anything interesting...

  • Ke$ha has finally passed the 1million sales mark for her debut album 'Animal,' leading to the LP being certified as platinum. However, the The Recording Industry Association of America has only given the certificate in anticipation of the remaining shipment of the album is passing the million sales mark in a few week's time, and standing at 946,700 sales already, this should be an easy feat for the 'Tik Tok' star. Ke$ha is lining up the re-release of 'Animal' whilst recording new material for album #2...'citing :D

  • Hip-Hop diva Lil' Kim has kick started a joint venture with her cousin Katrise Jones by opening a hair salon, 'Se Swa.' Surrounded by friends and family, the owners cut the red ribbon and indulged in a champagne reception. Whilst Lil' Kim is looking better than she did on the cover of Kontrol magazine earlier this week, she should still be eyeing up the competition coming from up and coming starlet Nicki Minaj.

  • Lily Allen has revealed that she has no talent for designing clothes, despite quitting the music industry to follow a career in fashion. Despite this, Allen has opened up a vintage clothes shop, 'Lucy In Disguise,' with her sister so that she can continue to have a hands on approach to fashion. Talking to Bang Showbiz, the former signer said "I love vintage clothing and I felt like we could highlight how brilliant vintage shopping can be," A novel idea I suppose...perhaps she should have been less pretentious and carried on doing what she's good at?

News Bites - 8pm

So from now on, we'll be updating the site with intermittent articles giving you a quick update on some of the best stories from the world of celebs, tv, film and all that jazz. We'll keep them to bites of five, or else it's not so much of a bite as a big old mouthful. Here's your first taste...

  • Twitt-error! Social site Twitter was hacked today due to a loophole in its security system. The spam error caused users who moved their cursor over blacked-out text to automatically 'tweet' or 'retweet' the same message. Some accounts also automatically posted a message in hugely oversized text, resulting in their page and those of their followers becoming unreadable. The Twitter page belonging to the wife of former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, had attempted to direct her one million followers to a "hardcore porn site based in Japan". Thankfully the loophole has now been closed and the now the site's millions of users can tweet away, merry as a lark.

  • It has been reported that Australian sweetheart Kylie Minogue once attempted to stop the episode of 'Neighbours,' in which her former character Charlene married Jason Donovan's character Scott, from being repeated. However, Miss Minogue didn't have a strong enough case to keep the episode off the tv, her main issue being that she didn't want to be remembered for just being in a soap...

  • Ciara has claimed that her latest album, titled 'Basic Instinct,' will please fans despite its release date being pushed back multiple times. Speaking on radio station 'Hot 93.7,' Ciara claimed that "...the album is combination of fun, party, sexy, confident, bossy, energetic. Everything all in one. I feel like my fans are going to be really happy and are going to be satisfied...that's my goal." We've heard some tracks from the album already here at The Ice, Spice & Vice Files and we have to say, it looks like she could be right.

  • Speaking to Sky News whilst promoting their new range of perfumes, the Sugababes have revealed how lucky they feel to still be selling records after a whopping four line-up changes. Heidi Range stated that "If you do the music people love they will buy it" and also announced a new album and a tour for 2011. Who knows who'll be in the band then...

  • It looks as though troubled star Amy Winehouse has apologised to producer Mark Ronson via the medium of twitter after she slammed him...also via twitter (Don't these people ever get out?) for claiming too much praise for her 'Back To Black' album. Perhaps she should stop harping on about that album and get some new material recorded...
Stay tuned for more news bites coming your way very soon...
