Uk Midweek Charts Roundup - Tuesday 20th Oct

So Midweeks Boffs, it looks as though Bruno Mars is getting close to regaining his #1 slot after 3 weeks of being usurped by Tinie Tempah and Cee-Lo Green, which means that The Wanted are still looking at a #2 placing this week with their single ‘Heart Vacancy.’

The rest of the top 5 remains the same, with Duck Sauce at #3, Cee-Lo Green at #4 and Mike Posner at #5. However, Katy Perry has jumped up 3 places to occupy the #6 position with her latest offering ‘Firework,’ despite the criticisms circulating around her live vocals on Sunday’s X Factor performance.

There’s less movement for fellow X Factor performer Diana Vickers, whose wicked heart stays stuck at #12. Look on the bright side though D, at least you’re not Joe McElderry, who has slipped down to #20. *Winces*

See you tomorrow :-)

UK Charts Top Ten - 17th Oct 2010

This week sees Cee-Lo cling onto the coveted #1 spot, fending off fierce competition from both Bruno Mars, who moved up from #4 to #2, and Duck Sauce who debut at #3 with ‘Barbra Streisand.’

Tinie Tempah also has his name stamped all over the Top 10, being found at both #4, with Sweedish House Mafia and #5 with Eric Turner. Unfortunately for reigning X Factor champ Joe McElderry, his sophomore single ‘Ambitions’ has failed to crack the top 5, let alone the #1 spot and is this week’s second highest new entry at #6.

The end of the chart is filled by two tracks that have shot up the chart this week. At #9 is Mike Posner, who jumps 13 spaces from #22 with his single ‘Cooler Than Me,’ whilst Usher, still riding high on his X Factor performance, leaps from the #18 spot to #10 with ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love.’

Other new entries haven’t fared quite so well, with Pixie Lott’s ‘Broken Arrow’ at #12 and Michael Bublé’s ‘Hollywood’ debuting at #17.

Full chart below:

1. (1) Cee-Lo Green: Fuck You

2. (4) Bruno Mars: Just The Way You Are
3. (-) Duck Sauce: Barbra Streisand
4. (5) Swedish House Mafia Vs Tinie Tempah: Miami 2 Ibiza
5. (3) Tinie Tempah: Written In The Stars

UK Midweek Charts Roundup - Wednesday 13th Oct

Cee-Lo Green is still outselling his rivals to keep his obscene claws on the top spot, but is being closely followed by Duck Sauce and ‘Barbra Streisand,’ which keep their #2 spot despite their two positions now being combined. Bruno Mars is still hanging around at #3, closely followed by reigning X Factor champ Joe McElderry, who’s #4 position has not had its sales combined with its position further down in the chart. Tempah rounds off the top 5.

Usher is still holding steady at #11 after his X Factor performance, just behind Pixie Lott’s ‘Broken Arrow’ at #10. Further down the top 15 is Michael Bublé with his new track ‘Hollywood.’

Elsewhere, ‘Mad World’ is still enjoying its X Factor revival at #18, whilst B.o.B.’s ‘Airplaines’ finds itself hauled back up into the top 30, alongside another of Usher’s live performances ‘OMG.’

Check back tomorrow to see if Duck Sauce can outrun Cee-Lo and if Joe McElderry can finally oust Bruno from his top 3 spot...

UK Midweek Charts Roundup - Tuesday 12th Oct

So, back to the chart drawing board people! Cee-Lo Green looks set to maintain his grip on the #1 spot, meaning that we could have our second two week spanning #1 since Alexandra Burke’s ‘Start Without You.’ His closest competition comes from Duck Sauce with their dance track ‘Barbara Streisand,’ which also holds a place at #32.

Bruno Mars is still selling strongly and as a result keeps his track ‘Just The Way You Are’ high up the charts at #3. Joe McElderry is doing well but appears to have stalled a little at #4 with his single ‘Ambitions’ which can also be found at #27. The top 5 is rounded off by Tinie Tempah’s ‘Written In The Stars.’

Elsewhere, Travie McCoy re-enters the chart at #9 with his Bruno Mars collaboration ‘Billionaire’ thanks to FYD’s performance on The X Factor this weekend, whilst Pixie Lott looks set to round up the top 10 at the moment with ‘Broken Arrow.’

As a result of ‘The X Factor Effect,’ several other tracks have also benefitted, such as Usher’s ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’ which is a couple of spaces outside the top 10, Michael Andrews and Gary Jules’ ‘Mad World’ in the top 20 and Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’ appearing at the #33 position.

Uk Midweek Charts Roundup - Tuesday 5th Oct

Another week and yet ANOTHER single on track for the #1 spot! This time it looks like a battle between Cee-Lo Green with ‘Fuck You’ vs Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow with ‘Shame’ to claim this week’s top spot. Currently Cee-Lo is ahead of the Take That duo, shifting around 40k copies, ahead of Williams/Barlow’s 27k.

The Tempah/Turner collaboration has slipped a couple of places to #3, ahead of Bruno Mars’ ‘Just The Way You Are’ at #4. A new entry at #5 is Sweedish House Mafia featuring chart regular Tinie Tempah with their collaboration ‘Miama 2 Ibiza,’ making it Tempah’s second position in the top 5.

Labrinth has dropped down to #6, ahead of Kings of Leon’s new entry ‘Radioactive’ which currently resides at #7. Last week’s chart heavyweights Taio Cruz and Adele fall to the #8 and #9 spots respectively whilst Katy Perry clings to the end of the top ten.

You know the drill...pop back tomorrowwww!

Tinie Tempah has knocked Bruno Mars off the top spot after only one week at #1, making Tempah’s ‘Written In The Stars’ his second UK #1. Adele has rocketed into the top of the charts with her single ‘Make You Feel My Love’ due to its feature on The X Factor last week, with Taio Cruz falling from his last week’s #2 position to round off the top 5.

Enriqué Iglesias and Nicole Scherzinger duet ‘Heartbeat’ has cracked the top ten, entering at #8 whilst it’s another unfortunate week for Burkey who slips down to #10.

Swedish House Mafia Vs Tinie Tempah - Miami 2 Ibiza

What do you get if you cross the Swedish House Mafia with a certain Mr T. Tempah? The answer...an electro driven club smash by the sounds of things...

The lyrics and beat to 'Miami 2 Ibiza' will literally drill into your brain and you'll find youself singing along to this little treat in no time at all. The constant pounding rhythm is enough to get even the squarest of squares hooked, especially once you've heard it out in a club after a few drinks.

In essence, this could be classed as a perfect club song, just listening to a mere snippet of this brilliance will have images of lights flashing, music thumping, drink downing and move busting joy exploding in front of your eyes. The tempo picks up for the chorus and smashes into an all out anthem sound, with synths and claps galore.

Entering into the second verse, the vocals drop down into base level which the crowds will go wild for, and gives the track a different vibe from most other recent club bangers. As the chorus continues the vocals gradually return to normal. Tempah's vocals don't sound as unique as we've become accustomed to although lyrically the track is just as good.

It would seem that anyone who could resist this track must be dead inside, or old, as this is a proper anthem that'll be stomping through clubs up and down the country for the foreseeable future. From Tinie Tempah, we now expect nothing less and he could soon be adding another #1 to his collection.

UK Midweek Charts Roundup - Friday 1st Oct

Hello there chart fanatics :-D

So it’s Friday...and our last day of Midweek updates before the big chart happening on Sunday! And it looks as if there’s a few last minute changes...

Although Mr Tempah looks almost certain to cinch yet another #1 this weekend, it would seem that his bezzie Labrinth has been shunted into third place with ‘Let The Sun Shine,’ whilst Bruno Mars has hopped up to the #2 spot.

Adele and Taio Cruz are still sitting pretty in the #4 and #5 spots and it’s unlikely that this will change before Sunday. Katy Perry maintains her #6 position, whilst the hypnotising Iglesias/Scherzinger ballad ‘Heartbeat’ sticks at #8.

Now...the news everyone’s been waiting for...has a certain pert bottomed Miss K Minogue managed to scrape her way back into the top ten? No. In fact she’s done the opposite...and slipped down yet another place to the #12 spot. Oops...

UK Midweek Charts Roundup - Thursday 30th Sept

Hello midweekers! Today it looks like we’re playing the waiting game, as not much has changed since yesterday.

Tempah remains at #1 with Labrinth trailing behind with his debut at #2. This week’s #1 Bruno Mars keeps his grip on the #3 spot with Adele and Taio Cruz rounding off the top 5.

Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ lingers at #6, whilst Iglesias/Scherzinger ballad ‘Heartbeat’ sticks at #8. Bad news for Alexandra Burke who, after an ungainly fall from the top spot to #5 last week is now looking at a #10 placing this week.

Meanwhile, Kylie still hasn’t amassed enough sales to break into the top 10, keeping her position one place about Eminem/RiRi at #11. Shontelle has also fallen from the top spot to #13.

Looks like Minogue’s going to have to up her game if she wants to get a decent placing...

Uk Midweek Charts Roundup - Wednesday 29th Sept

So...it’s Wednesday and not much has changed! Mr Tempah is still holding out in the top spot, keeping workmate Labrinth stuck at #2 which I doubt will do much for Simon Cowell’s blood pressure...

Bruno Mars keeps his position at #3 whilst Adele should be pleased with her current #4 place with ‘Make You Feel My Love.’  Taio Cruz rounds off the top 5 with the ever popular ‘Dynamite.’

The interest today lies towards the bottom of the top 10...whilst Enrique and Nicole have managed to claw their way up to #8 with their duet ‘Hearbeat,’ Kylie has slipped out of the top 10 completely, just managing to stick her heels in at the #11 spot. I thought it was everyone else who was meant to be getting outta her way?

Pop back tomorrow for the latest news...

UK Midweek Charts Roundup - Tuesday 28th Sept

So another week and another promising looking #1, after Bruno Mars sped to the top of the charts this week selling nearly 83,000 copies of his single ‘Just The Way You Are.’ Set to knock Mars off the top spot is the UK’s new favourite Hip-Hop artist Tinie Tempah with his Eric Turner collaboration ‘Written In The Stars,’ which has already shifted 54,000 sales in the first two days of its release.

Following Tempah is former collaborator Labrinth, who featured in both ‘Pass Out’ and ‘Frisky,’ who is currently at #2 with his debut ‘Let The Sun Shine.’ This is marginally ahead of the current #1 by Bruno Mars although this could all swap around over the course of the week.

Adele has rocketed back into the charts after the ‘X Factor Effect,’ which has taken her former #26 and #24 charting single ‘Make You Feel My Love,’ into the #4 spot today. Whilst this might slip down a bit over the course of the week, she looks set for a top ten placing.

Towards the lower end of the top ten we see Kylie edging up the charts with her second ‘Aphrodite’ single ‘Get Outta My Way,’ jumping from its current #48 position and Enrique & Nicole jump up to #9 with ‘Hearbeat.’

See you tomorrow people ;-)

Tinie Tempah - Written In The Stars

Tinie Tempah returns with his third single from debut album 'The Disc-Overy' and this time substitutes Labrinth, his feature artist on tracks 'Pass Out' and 'Frisky,' for the big voiced Eric Turner who displays his vocal talents from the off, accompanied by synth beats that maintain a speedy tempo for the track.

Tempah himself sounds more or less the same as ever, showcasing both his unique rapping voice and individual lyrics that have shot him to fame in recent months. The song itself differs from Tinie's previous releases however, being more club focussed, and instead delves a little into the man himself and his rise to the public eye. For the first time, Tempah promotes a motivational message, encouraging his fans to "...keep screaming 'till they hear you out..."

The epic sounding chorus is made by Turner's attention grabbing vocals, which are extremely dramatic and will no doubt arouse interest in the little known performer as he blasts his way through lyrics about fate and not changing due to fame.

The overall track feels like it has the familiar set up of Tempah's other works, and yet feels a bit 'cleaner' and more child friendly as a result of the themes of hard work and self belief, whereas 'Pass Out' and 'Frisky' emphasized Tempah's love of drinking and sex...

Yet again the performer pulls another brilliant track out of the bag, managing to sound fresh whilst maintaining the cheeky lyrics and one of a kind vocals that his fans love. With 'The Disc-Overy' not being released until 4th October and fans desperate to hear more, this should chart well within the top ten.

8/10 - Spice!
