A work in progress

Welcome to The Ice, Spice and Vice Files!

Here we aim to provide you with 7 full length and detailed reviews, one for each day of the week, of the highlights (or lowlights as the case may be) of the following week's single releases.

You will also find plenty of other features, including the UK midweeks singles chart which is updated daily, roundups of both the international music and boxoffice charts, a glance at the X Factor UK, a 'Who's On Top?' magazine section as well as some other treats too, such as our 'Star Power' featured artist page and 'Introducing...' page.

As always, if there's something you want us to review or feature, just let us know via email or comment and we'll try and sort something out. We're very friendly like that ;-)

In Love and light

News Bites - 12pm

  • The new trailer for the latest Harry Potter movie, 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part One' has been unveiled and looks like the most exciting yet. At 2.25 minutes long, the trailer is really cranking up the anticipation for the November 19th release and because the finale is split into two parts, it's going to be epic.

  • Could Queen B be about to smash back onto the music scene earlier than anybody could have anticipated? Speculation has been mounting from Ne-Yo's news that Beyoncé knows exactly where she wants her next album to take her, and that "She's going to give you directions [like] 'Here's where I'm going, so here's where I need you to be...So this is the sound, this is the vibe; make it happen'. And I write and she likes it or she doesn't. And in this case she did, and there you have it." Increasing the rumours is producer Los Da Mystro, who last night tweeted "Listening to new B record Dream wrote....FUcKINg INSANE! WOw! She About to Kill the game again! Had to Listen again!! Yall C in 3 weeks!" So, this makes for some very exciting news, whilst he conceded that it may in fact be longer in coming later on in the evening, it would seem that B definitely has something major up her sleeve...

  • After reports that she was in hot water due to her huge X Factor bill, Dannii Minogue is reportedly desperate to shed the pounds she gained whilst pregnant in time for her big X Factor comeback. Minogue wishes to look as glamourous as possible and has even chosen her initial outfit for the first live show which looks set to be huge. According to a source the new mum is concerned about looking big next to the ever slender Cheryl Cole and "...wants to blow everyone away. This could be her last year on The X Factor and she wants to go out with a bang." Furthermore, it sounds like she's serious, to ensure a tight weight loss regime, Dannii has been following a strict organic diet, cutting out wheat, dairy and meat...let's hope it's worth it...

  • Girls Aloud star gone solo Nadine Coyle has revealed that her new album 'Insatiable' has been specifically written to have a storyline running through it. Coyle, who wrote much of the LP herself, has stated that she wanted "No auto tune, a full gospel choir on there, really heavy backing vocals, lyrical content that made sense - but not lyrics that only made sense to me, but could make sense to everybody listening." It's looking like we could have a very organic and different record from Coyle than the one people would have been expecting. If lead single, also titled 'Insatiable' is anything to go by, then we could be in for a treat.

  • Shakira has returned with her brand new single 'Loca,' an extremely infectious Spanish infused number which also features British Hip-Hop star Dizzee Rascal. However, Shakira had originally intended to shoot its accompanying video without the rapper, but on set changed her mind and scrapped an allegedly raunchy video so that Dizzee could feature in it. We know he's not the best looker Shakira but still...The new video will show Rascal following Shakira around with a video camera as she runs riot throughout Barcelona. Shakira has warned, "UK, get ready to go Loca."
