News Bites - 9pm

  • The Black Eyed Peas have unveiled the release date for their brand new album, 'The Beginning.' The LP, which will feature production by David Guetta, DJ Ammo and Will.I Am himself, will be on shelves on November 30th, with the lead single blasting out in early October. Whether or not it'll be able to surpass the sales of previous super album 'The E.N.D.' which attained sales that certified it as double planintum in the USA and which featured the 6x platinum selling 'I Gotta Feeling,' remains to be seen...so far it's looking good though and after their previous success this album is bound to sell.

  • MTV has commissioned a pilot episode for an American version of the UK smash TV hit, 'The Inbetweeners.' According to 'Deadline,' casting for the US version has already begun to find new versions of the UK stars of the critically acclaimed comedy. David Janollari, the executive vice president of MTV who deals with scripted development has stated that "The Inbetweeners is one of the best comedies to come out of the UK in years,"and went on to praise its portrayal of teenage "coming of age" plot lines, suggesting that they would be perfect for MTV's core demographic. Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, the creators of the UK series have agreed to be the executive producers for the MTV pilot...but let's face it...it'll never be as good as the UK version.

  • Tack-tastic model Katie Price has been found guilty of being out of control of her pink horsebox vehicle when it veered into another lane, resulting in her facing a fine amounting to £1665. The former glamour model turned business woman/reality star has denied that she was using her phone when the incident took place, and claimed that she wasn't used to the size of the box. When appearing in court, Price claimed that the incident occured "Because I'm a typical woman driver. I'm just not used to a lorry that big. I was probably a bit scared because it was on a motorway. I don't remember veering but it is quite difficult." Strong defence...Police officers who were present at the time gave evidence claiming that Price was seen clutching a mobile for 3 seconds which may have been enough time to distract the driver. We're sure Price will be able to fork out the fine...we just wonder why nothing smashed into that hideous pink horse box...

  • Twilight star Kellan Lutz has spoken out with praise for the portrayal of the new movie's portrayal of character Bella's birth scene. In 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1,' director Bill Condon has decided to maintain the graphic feel of the labour. Lutz commented "I love the way that they're showing it. I really thought that was going to be really a tough thing to show." The first instalment of 'Breaking Dawn' hits cinemas in 2011, whilst filming for the final segment will begin in October.

  • 2009 X Factor champion Joe McElderry has revealed that mentor Cheryl Cole was supportive when he came out as gay a couple of months ago. According to the singer, Cole sent him a supportive text whilst she was recovering from her battle with malaria, admitting she was pleased with his decision. Talking to 'X' magazine, McElderry revealed that "She texted me and said, 'I'm glad you've managed to get it out.' And she's always been there whenever I've needed to talk to her or discuss anything. She was great." McElderry's second single 'Ambitions' goes on sale on 11th October, with his debut album being released on October 25th. We're glad he's had the courage to speak out and we look forward to seeing who his first catch will be ;-)
