Professor Green ft. Example - Monster
After his last big hook up with Lily Allen for single 'Just Be Good To Green,' Prof Green pulls another big name out of the hat for his latest offering 'Monster' in the form of Example. The darker sounding single is immensely catchy and introduces his fans to a deeper level of the rapper.
This sinister side of Green is apparent throughout the track, a side to which it feels as though he has been leading us up to since his debut 'I Need You Tonight.' After that more innocent and retro sound, Green leads the way to a less comfortable area with lines like "I'll give you everything you'll ever need, and I'll find a way to turn you into a monster..." accompanied by Frankenstein's Laboratory style sound effects just audible in the backing track.
The spasmodic techno sounds throughout the single increase the sense of Green being all over the place, but coupled with his cheeky chappy vocals the track is irresistible. An issue with this track however, is that it holds no staying power. Whilst Green mentions current celebs such as the Sugababes and Peter Andre, and even goes to an extreme, picking out Pixie Lott's current milk campaign, in a couple of years people will be forgetting their impact.
Although Green points out the dangers of dating him, showing that he's a bit of a bad boy, its put across in a loveable and attractive way that will ensure he has women falling at his feet for the foreseeable future. Example on the other hand is barely noticeable on the track, simply popping up in the chorus, (See if you can spot him popping up in the video...) although he does add to it and it's a coup for Green to secure yet another hot collaboration.
This track again easily merges pop and rap and should ride high in the charts next week. It's interesting to see Professor Green delving further into his character on this track and delivers a little more than the the commercial based tracks we've heard so far.

The Votes Are In...
This week we asked you to vote for which single you preferred from rival Girls Aloud stars Nadine Coyle, whose debut 'Insatiable' is being geared up for release, or Cheryl Cole, whose lead single 'Promise This' from her new album 'Messy Little Raindrops' looks set to be a big track this year.
With 88% of the vote, Cheryl outstrips Nadine with no competition...Bad luck Nads...
Stay tuned for another poll coming shortly...
Who's On Top? Obama Covers Rolling Stone Magazine
US President Barack Obama has been awarded the cover spot on 'Rolling Stone' magazine. I have to say it's not very awe inspiring, but then again there's not really much you can do with a President...
UK Midweek Charts Roundup - Thursday 30th Sept
Hello midweekers! Today it looks like we’re playing the waiting game, as not much has changed since yesterday.
Tempah remains at #1 with Labrinth trailing behind with his debut at #2. This week’s #1 Bruno Mars keeps his grip on the #3 spot with Adele and Taio Cruz rounding off the top 5.
Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ lingers at #6, whilst Iglesias/Scherzinger ballad ‘Heartbeat’ sticks at #8. Bad news for Alexandra Burke who, after an ungainly fall from the top spot to #5 last week is now looking at a #10 placing this week.
Meanwhile, Kylie still hasn’t amassed enough sales to break into the top 10, keeping her position one place about Eminem/RiRi at #11. Shontelle has also fallen from the top spot to #13.
Looks like Minogue’s going to have to up her game if she wants to get a decent placing...

Uk Midweek Charts Roundup - Wednesday 29th Sept
So...it’s Wednesday and not much has changed! Mr Tempah is still holding out in the top spot, keeping workmate Labrinth stuck at #2 which I doubt will do much for Simon Cowell’s blood pressure...
Bruno Mars keeps his position at #3 whilst Adele should be pleased with her current #4 place with ‘Make You Feel My Love.’ Taio Cruz rounds off the top 5 with the ever popular ‘Dynamite.’
The interest today lies towards the bottom of the top 10...whilst Enrique and Nicole have managed to claw their way up to #8 with their duet ‘Hearbeat,’ Kylie has slipped out of the top 10 completely, just managing to stick her heels in at the #11 spot. I thought it was everyone else who was meant to be getting outta her way?
Pop back tomorrow for the latest news...

Kelly Rowland - Forever And A Day
K-Row is back with yet another club tinged track, following up the success of her recent single 'Commander.' The echo filled intro builds up the excitement of the track and adds to the general feel of a 'fever for love,' whilst maintaining a decidedly more easygoing sound. Rowland's latest offering certainly give us an insight into the direction she's heading, and it looks as though we have a new club diva on our hands.
Accompanying the laid back beat are Kelly's fast paced vocals which complement the track brilliantly. This creates an addictive rhythm which will easily have you humming and then singing along after a couple of listens. The big lunged songstress uses this tune to fill us in on how it feels to be so in love, moving away from the colder lyrics of her Commander days.
However, the issue with this track is that it does sometimes feel as though Rowland is just showing off her impressive lung capacity, and as the song progresses perhaps she should have laid off the vocal bellows just a tiny bit. Despite this, her voice is softer than her 'Commander' alter-ego. Kelly displays some more delicate vocal dexterity towards the end of the track, which is an easy reminder of the talents of the performer and the chorus does lend itself towards the user-friendly sing-a-long kind of hook.
This is a great move away from all of the Beyoncé comparisons that have haunted Rowland since her debut solo single, although we're not sure whether this is as good a follow up to 'Commander' as may have been expected. Given good airplay and a chance for people to see its technology-themed video (Think i-Phone/Pad) there is no reason why this shouldn't sell.

This Week's Spicey Mash-Up!
This is the magic that occurs when you mash together Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough' with M.I.A.'s recent single 'XXXO'...MAGIC! This really highlights the brilliant parts of both tracks and creates a credible song in itself! Enjoy!

News Bites - 9pm
- The Black Eyed Peas have unveiled the release date for their brand new album, 'The Beginning.' The LP, which will feature production by David Guetta, DJ Ammo and Will.I Am himself, will be on shelves on November 30th, with the lead single blasting out in early October. Whether or not it'll be able to surpass the sales of previous super album 'The E.N.D.' which attained sales that certified it as double planintum in the USA and which featured the 6x platinum selling 'I Gotta Feeling,' remains to be seen...so far it's looking good though and after their previous success this album is bound to sell.
- MTV has commissioned a pilot episode for an American version of the UK smash TV hit, 'The Inbetweeners.' According to 'Deadline,' casting for the US version has already begun to find new versions of the UK stars of the critically acclaimed comedy. David Janollari, the executive vice president of MTV who deals with scripted development has stated that "The Inbetweeners is one of the best comedies to come out of the UK in years,"and went on to praise its portrayal of teenage "coming of age" plot lines, suggesting that they would be perfect for MTV's core demographic. Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, the creators of the UK series have agreed to be the executive producers for the MTV pilot...but let's face it...it'll never be as good as the UK version.
- Tack-tastic model Katie Price has been found guilty of being out of control of her pink horsebox vehicle when it veered into another lane, resulting in her facing a fine amounting to £1665. The former glamour model turned business woman/reality star has denied that she was using her phone when the incident took place, and claimed that she wasn't used to the size of the box. When appearing in court, Price claimed that the incident occured "Because I'm a typical woman driver. I'm just not used to a lorry that big. I was probably a bit scared because it was on a motorway. I don't remember veering but it is quite difficult." Strong defence...Police officers who were present at the time gave evidence claiming that Price was seen clutching a mobile for 3 seconds which may have been enough time to distract the driver. We're sure Price will be able to fork out the fine...we just wonder why nothing smashed into that hideous pink horse box...
- Twilight star Kellan Lutz has spoken out with praise for the portrayal of the new movie's portrayal of character Bella's birth scene. In 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1,' director Bill Condon has decided to maintain the graphic feel of the labour. Lutz commented "I love the way that they're showing it. I really thought that was going to be really a tough thing to show." The first instalment of 'Breaking Dawn' hits cinemas in 2011, whilst filming for the final segment will begin in October.
- 2009 X Factor champion Joe McElderry has revealed that mentor Cheryl Cole was supportive when he came out as gay a couple of months ago. According to the singer, Cole sent him a supportive text whilst she was recovering from her battle with malaria, admitting she was pleased with his decision. Talking to 'X' magazine, McElderry revealed that "She texted me and said, 'I'm glad you've managed to get it out.' And she's always been there whenever I've needed to talk to her or discuss anything. She was great." McElderry's second single 'Ambitions' goes on sale on 11th October, with his debut album being released on October 25th. We're glad he's had the courage to speak out and we look forward to seeing who his first catch will be ;-)

UK Boxoffice Chart Roundup - 28th Sept
Yet again police spoof ‘The Other Guys’ remains at the UK Boxoffice summit with almost £1.3million in ticket sales, narrowly beating Julia Roberts’ new venture ‘Eat Pray Love’ which is a new entry at #2, taking £1.6million.
US Boxoffice #1 ‘The Town,’ a heist drama directed by Ben Affleck is another new entry at #3 which takes around £100,000 more than kid horror ‘The Hole,’ again a new entry debuting at #4.
Last week’s #2, horror flick ‘Devil’ falls to #5, whilst ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ suffers a worse fate by dropping 5 places from #3 to #8.
The UK Boxoffice chart in full is as follows:
1. (1) The Other Guys - £1,292,144
2. (-) Eat Pray Love - £1,165,234
3. (-) The Town - £1,005,039

8. (3) Resident Evil: Afterlife - £367,675

10. (8) Marmaduke - £244,285
2. (-) Eat Pray Love - £1,165,234
3. (-) The Town - £1,005,039
4. (-) The Hole - £906,722
5. (2) Devil - £528,908

7. (5) Grown Ups - £384,119

Enrique Iglesias ft. Nicole Scherzinger - Heartbeat
The latin hearthrob Enrique Iglesias returns from the success of 'I Like It' taken from his recent 'Euphoria' album and teams up with the equally tricky-to-pronounce Nicole Scherzinger on this intimate ballad, creating a complete change of pace from the lead single.
The song itself is melodic and hypnotising, with a beat pattern that is barely indistinguishable from a heartbeat, and being the eternal optimist I'll put this down to good production as opposed to coincidence. The track represents all the Iglesias is renowned for, the classic smooth ballad, to which his tender vocals fit like a match made in heaven.
Teamed with new X Factor favourite Nicole Scherzinger, the track is given even further appeal, a bonus not only for Enrique but for the pussycat herself, whose solo career has gotten off to a rather wobbly start with a combination of flops and pushbacks overshadowing her releases. The chorus of the track is a main repetition of "I can feel your heartbeat" in which Iglesias takes the lead initially, but in the second half he swaps roles with Scherzinger which is a nice effect.
The tranquil sounds of the piano backing emphasises the theme of the tortured lovers, with lyrics demanding that the other "stop stealing my heart away" showing a reluctant but intense relationship. The more produced breakdown adds to the haunting effect of the single.
Whilst the chorus does begin to feel a little repetitive, (This isn't a song you'd want on repeat) it is quite sweet in small doses. Furthermore, although this is an enjoyable track, I'm not sure how well it'll fare in the face of the competition brought by the other love songs on release at the moment, such as the immensely popular 'Just The Way You Are' by Bruno Mars. However, Iglesias and Scherzinger's pairing is a winning combination and should see some success.

UK Midweek Charts Roundup - Tuesday 28th Sept
So another week and another promising looking #1, after Bruno Mars sped to the top of the charts this week selling nearly 83,000 copies of his single ‘Just The Way You Are.’ Set to knock Mars off the top spot is the UK’s new favourite Hip-Hop artist Tinie Tempah with his Eric Turner collaboration ‘Written In The Stars,’ which has already shifted 54,000 sales in the first two days of its release.
Following Tempah is former collaborator Labrinth, who featured in both ‘Pass Out’ and ‘Frisky,’ who is currently at #2 with his debut ‘Let The Sun Shine.’ This is marginally ahead of the current #1 by Bruno Mars although this could all swap around over the course of the week.
Adele has rocketed back into the charts after the ‘X Factor Effect,’ which has taken her former #26 and #24 charting single ‘Make You Feel My Love,’ into the #4 spot today. Whilst this might slip down a bit over the course of the week, she looks set for a top ten placing.
Towards the lower end of the top ten we see Kylie edging up the charts with her second ‘Aphrodite’ single ‘Get Outta My Way,’ jumping from its current #48 position and Enrique & Nicole jump up to #9 with ‘Hearbeat.’
See you tomorrow people ;-)

Who's On Top? - Kelly Rowland On Complex Magazine
Kelly Rowland has appeared in Complex magazine, and whilst the concept isn't huge, she looks stunning and really amps up the sex appeal. Looking trimmed, toned and seductive, what better way for K-Row to promote her upcoming, if delayed, new album?

Who's On Top? - Ne-Yo Covers Jet Magazine
Ne-Yo covers Jet magazine, but despite the huge smile, he's looking altogether a bit drab and totally less smooth than his usual image. I'm not amazed...
News - 6pm
- Twitter faces more criticism as Nadine Coyle's account was hacked into yet again last night and tweets were posted redirecting viewers to a diet site. The posts, which suggested that Coyle has been extreme dieting, claimed that the signer had lost 11lbs in a week. Fortunately Coyle's team spotted the incident which resulted in Coyle tweeting "Sorry guys but my Twitter has been hacked again!! We are trying to fix it. Don't listen to anything on there until I have it back. Thank you! -Nadine Xx mwAh!" In other Coyle related news, the singer has revealed that she didn't intend for her new solo LP to follow and 80s sounding route. However, she has played down the similarities, stating that it is just the use of live instrumentals that encourage the comparisons. Talking about the album, Coyle also added that she'd love to work with Cee-Lo Green, "Although it would hopefully not feature as much profanity as his recent song" titled 'Fuck You.' What a busy day for the Irish songbird.
- It has been reported that Nadine's fellow Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole has made no mention of former husband Ashley Cole in her new autobiography. The book, entitled 'Through My Eyes,' fails to elaborate on any details of her relationship and split with the football star throughout its 253 pages, whilst it does make references to 'close friends' Derek Hough and Will.I.Am. The British sweetheart also refrained from commenting on her recent battle with malaria. Don't do an autobiography if you're not going to say anything interesting...
- Ke$ha has finally passed the 1million sales mark for her debut album 'Animal,' leading to the LP being certified as platinum. However, the The Recording Industry Association of America has only given the certificate in anticipation of the remaining shipment of the album is passing the million sales mark in a few week's time, and standing at 946,700 sales already, this should be an easy feat for the 'Tik Tok' star. Ke$ha is lining up the re-release of 'Animal' whilst recording new material for album #2...'citing :D
- Hip-Hop diva Lil' Kim has kick started a joint venture with her cousin Katrise Jones by opening a hair salon, 'Se Swa.' Surrounded by friends and family, the owners cut the red ribbon and indulged in a champagne reception. Whilst Lil' Kim is looking better than she did on the cover of Kontrol magazine earlier this week, she should still be eyeing up the competition coming from up and coming starlet Nicki Minaj.
- Lily Allen has revealed that she has no talent for designing clothes, despite quitting the music industry to follow a career in fashion. Despite this, Allen has opened up a vintage clothes shop, 'Lucy In Disguise,' with her sister so that she can continue to have a hands on approach to fashion. Talking to Bang Showbiz, the former signer said "I love vintage clothing and I felt like we could highlight how brilliant vintage shopping can be," A novel idea I suppose...perhaps she should have been less pretentious and carried on doing what she's good at?
